Blogging for Dollars

Blogging for dollars might sound like the latest game show or some new drinking game, but it’s the latest craze to hit the Internet. Bloggers began blogging for a number of reasons, but as the blog movement has increased in popularity, they have found ways to monetize their blogs and are seeing their commitment pay off.

Whether a blogger’s focus is to communicate with customers or just to have fun, they have begun looking at ways to earn revenue from their blogs. The most popular ways for bloggers to earn some added cash for their pet projects are:

1. ) Google Adsense in Blogs
Google AdSense allows webmasters to dynamically serve content-relevant advertisements in blogs. If the visitor clicks one of the AdSense ads served to the blog, the website owner is credited for the referral. Webmasters need only to insert a Google-generated java script into the blog or blog template. Google’s spider parses the AdServing blog and serves ads that relate to the blog’s content. Google uses a combination of keyword matching and context analysis to determine what ads should be served.

2. ) Affiliate Programs (Product Endorsements)
Affiliate Programs work when an affiliate web site receives income for generating sales, leads, or traffic to a merchant website. Generally, bloggers will mention or endorse specific products and if site visitors purchase the product, bloggers will receive a portion of the sale.

3. ) Product Promotion
Businesses use blogs to detail how specific features or product add-ons can increase functionality and save time. Content-rich product promotion will help with search engine placement.

4.) Banner Ads
While less popular than in the past, websites with high traffic levels can still earn decent revenue by selling banner space.

As the Internet evolves bloggers will continue to seek out ways to monetize their opinions and thoughts. Daily journals and online blogs have become more than just a communication means to many.

Each of the items in the checklist below is part of a broad and easy to implement security policy.

  1. Install all windows critical updates for your operating system from the Microsoft Update site – it’s free! All that’s required to keep your Microsoft operating system up to date is an Internet connection.
  2. Install and configure a firewall – either a hardware or software based firewall is a must! If you are using a router, it probably has firewall capabilities included. Software firewalls are available at minimal cost; one of the best is free!
  3. Install and configure antivirus software – the cost is minimal, there are even free versions available – the protection is priceless! Update the definition files daily – scan your drive weekly – it can all be automated with most programs.
  4. Create a backup – even the best plan can be circumvented – be prepared for the worst with a complete backup of your hard drive! If you already have a CD burner and software installed in your machine, you probably have the tools to create a complete system backup – for only the cost of a few CD-R’s!

Obviously, the costs to properly protect yourself from the worst threats to your security are almost nil. If you need help with any step above, simply use a Google search to find help – it’s freely available.

Follow these four simple steps and you will have implemented comprehensive and complete protection for your PC.

To ensure you blog successfully you must write your blog in the right way. Too many people start to blog with little to no knowledge in what and how to blog in the correct way. These are my 5 quick tips on how to blog successfully.

1. Content Must Be Rich And Well Researched.
To ensure that your blog stands out from the millions out there and keeps readers coming back for more up-to-date relevant information you must make sure that you post only quality well researched content. Don’t just spend 5 minutes and post something that you yourself are struggling to read with your eyes open, as this tends to have the same effect on your readers! Include pictures that relate to your blog niche. This not only looks good, but will ensure that search engines bots spider your website quickly. You could also include videos but make sure that you have permission to add it and it relates to your blog niche.

2. Blog Frequently!
Frequent blogs ensure the readers are kept intrigued. Now this should be once at least every 2- 3 days. Any longer than that and you jeopardise keeping and readers you already have and those potential ones. Honestly the more quality post the better. Power bloggers blog 3- 5 times a day! Not only do new blog posts give people a reason to return to your blog, they also help your blog in terms of search engine optimization. Each new post is a new entry point for viewers to find your blog. The more entry points, the better the chances are that new readers will find your blog.

3. Promotion Is The Key.
To ensure you get multiple links from your post and a generous amount of followers to your blog you must promote your blog page. Know there are many ways to do this, i.e. Promotion through web site linking, search engines, traditional directories etc. but i have my personal favourites that work for me time and time again. This can be done through a number of ways Guest Posting, Networking, Advertising, Social Media, Viral Content. By using any of these techniques you will soon find that you have more readers than you ever thought possible.

4. Search engine Optimization
Don’t get nervous know, Search Engine Optimization (SEO) isn’t always as complex as you may first think. Of course the deeper methods can be confusing but stick with these ideas for know and when you get familiar with them then try the “Complex SEO Stuff”. You should optimize your blogs correctly by showing importance to keywords throughout you blog. Any title that you use in your blog must be related to your niche market. Optimizing meta description tag and the title tag will also help search engines find your blog.

5. Use your opinion
This is one is a Peach! The best way to ensure that your post are quality keyword rich content, is to write them yourself. Now hopefully as you are a “blogger” you have a passion in the area that your blog is in. Having a passion for your niche market will help so much as your views and feelings will flood through to the words your write.. If you’re able to write unique content, then everything else will be easy for you, trust me! This will help you come through as an expert in your field.

A Blog is the center of your online marketing “wheel.” To discuss the Blog effectively, we really need to talk about “attraction marketing” as well. Attraction marketing is a tried and true method of growing your business. The simple fact is that people will not do business with you if they don’t like or trust you.

What attraction marketing means online is that people will come to know you, like you and trust you, and they have a need for what you are offering, then they may do business with you.

With social networking sites like facebook and MySpace, these are becoming increasingly popular for people to find out more about you, who your friends are, what people think of you etc. etc. It is also a great big party where people can just hang out and talk.

With a blog, you have much more control over the content that people see. You can post additional information about you and your product. People can comment on those products.

With your blog you can “point” to anywhere else on the web that you want your participants to go. You can point to your primary program, back to MySpace, Facebook, or wherever. If all your social networking sites point to your blog, where people can get even more indication of your area of expertise, and get to know you personally then they are much more likely to do business with you.

Your blog can then kindly direct your “followers” to your main company website, order page, or they can sign up on your autoresponder. Anyway that you want to market, you need to use your Blog as a center of the marketing hub.

Many experts are encouraging the use of Wordpress.org. This is a little more complicated than it’s sister Wordpress.com. For the novice, the easiest set up is with blogger. If you this (mostly free) resource, it may be just the piece of the puzzle that you are missing for your line marketing efforts.
